2021 Milan Furniture Fair sneak peek - Mattiazzi FILO single chair
After being suspended due to the global COVID-19 epidemic in 2020, the Milan Furniture Fair will resume from 9/5 to 9/10 in 2021 and has attracted much attention. Among them, the new product- FILO single chair designed by the well-known French brothers Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec for the Italian solid wood furniture brand Mattiazzi is one of the highlights of this Milan Furniture Fair .

The Italian solid wood furniture brand Mattiazzi FILO FILO side chair was officially released at the 2021 Milan Furniture Fair. It was designed by the famous French brothers Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec. They also designed it for the Italian solid wood furniture brand Mattiazzi after the Osso , Uncino and Quindici series. The 4th work. FILO is Italian and its original meaning is "cable" (wire). The FILO side chair is like letters printed on letterpress. Appreciate the lines from the side to exude an art of arrangement, full of personality and rich visual effects. The staggered structural lines on the seat not only extend the sense of layering to the visual composition, but also flexibly fit the body shape when actually riding. It is a single chair that is both comfortable and conforms to one's body shape.
Italian solid wood furniture brand Mattiazzi FILO's FILO side chair is made of solid beech wood. The structure is designed to reduce unnecessary consumption of wood raw materials. Through more ingenious joining and manufacturing techniques, the product's strengths are brought into play. It is a perfect balance between solid structure, personal needs and unique features.
The cable of the FILO chair seat is made of PLA polylactic acid. PLA is made from plant starch. It not only has strong tensile strength and ductility, but more importantly, it is a renewable resource and has the characteristics of being biodegradable. It can be reused and will not pollute the environment. It is fully in line with Mattiazzi brand concept.

The FILO side chair is available in different colors of black/grey/yellow/green. The unique design undoubtedly presents a new design vocabulary for the Bouroullec brothers.
【Introduction to Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec】
In 1997, Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec collaborated with Cappellini, a well-known trendy furniture design brand in Northern Italy. Since 2001, they have collaborated with Galerie Kreo contemporary design gallery to hold solo exhibitions. After that, he was invited to design the boutique series «A-Poc» for Issey Miyake, and got to know Vitra President Rolf Felhbaum to start the design of the new office series «Joyn». Since then, Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec have collaborated with many well-known design brands: Alessi, Axor Hansgrohe, Cappellini, Established & Sons, Flos, Hay, Kvadrat, Kartell, Ligne Roset, Magis, Mattiazzi, Mutina, Nani Marquina and Vitra.
