Arne Jacobsen, Danish design giant and modernist architect

Arne Jacobsen is one of the four major Danish design giants and the most influential architect/designer of the 20th century.

Arne Jacobsen entered the Fine Arts Department of the Royal Danish Academy in 1924. In 1925, he won a silver medal at the Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs in Paris for the design of a chair.

Arne Jacobsen is a representative figure of modernist design around the world. He is famous for his simple and neat chair designs, but his talent does not stop there. His creative design works can be seen in architecture, lighting fixtures and even textile materials. AJ's most famous work is the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen (1956-1960). Every aspect of the hotel, including textile materials, lamps, tableware and furniture, was personally designed by him.

The Egg Chair and Swan Chair are Jacobsen's most well-known designs, and he won many world-renowned design awards throughout his life.
