The Strand onion line table lamp is designed by British designer Benjamin. Designed by Benjamin Hubert for Muuto.
The Strand table lamp is made of spray-coated Cocoon material, with a cloud-like appearance tightly wrapped around a steel frame. The lampshade is made of tiny strands of silk that create a complex and interesting structure that not only covers the light source, but also acts as a light shield. The transparent presentation of the Cocoon material lampshade allows the Strand table lamp to filter the light, creating a gentle and comfortable light. The Strand table lamp is a tactile and functional lighting fixture that diffuses soft light throughout, bringing an alluring sculptural quality to any scene.
First used in furniture design in the 1950s, Cocoon technology is a light shade as translucent as textiles and paper, but more durable and has the appeal of seamless fabrication and structured surfaces.
