Formigueiro , designed by Domingos Tótora , means “ anthill ” in Portuguese. The work will symbolize the natural landscape of the Maria da Fé autonomous region in Brazil – the spectacular termite mounds, presented through abstract art.
Formigueiro 13A is handmade from recycled cardboard, colored with natural pigments and exposed to the Brazilian sunshine. The finished product is sun-dried and is a perfect piece of sustainable art for design enthusiasts.
Designer Domingos Tótora comes from Minas Gerais, the second largest continent in southeastern Brazil. His works are famous for their sustainable and environmentally friendly designs that integrate nature and modern design, and are characterized by eternity and calmness. Domingos Tótora's work uses neutral yellow ocher and the dark red of the soil to represent the colors of the rural areas of his hometown in Brazil.
