Adhering to the belief of product recycling and upcycling, Louis Poulsen constantly tries new methods to recycle products and materials, including transforming slightly defective products into lamps with collectible value. The PH 5 Retake series launched based on the classic and best-selling PH 5 is the best interpretation.

PH 5 Retake series old pieces , not perfect , the old paint of PH 5 with some slight dents or slight surface irregularities is removed, allowing the aluminum lampshade to present an alternative and distinctive aesthetic with its characteristic original nuances. During the final process, PH 5 Retake is coated with a dry lubricant to protect the metal. Without further treatment, the metal will develop perfect oxidation marks over time, giving each lamp its own unique appearance.

The PH 5 Retake follows the design principles of Poul Henningsen's three-layer lampshade, providing direct downward and comfortable zero glare. The light projected from the side not only illuminates the lamp body, but the core of the lamp also emits soft diffused light. PH 5 Retake is a recycled version of the classic PH 5 lamp. The original paint is removed and the original aluminum appearance is presented. After the old paint is removed, the aluminum surface will show different shades of color. Unlike the upper lampshade which is made of aluminum, the lower lampshade is made of steel and may rust.

The exposed metal inside of the lampshade provides extra gentle light reflection, creating a warm and cozy atmosphere in the space. The lower lampshade is equipped with a frosted glass diffuser to ensure that the direct downward light source is 100% glare-free.

Please note when purchasing:

• The metal surface of the lampshade is treated with dry lubricant to prevent oxidation.
• If no further treatment is taken on the lower lampshade, it may develop rust marks over time.
• PH 5 Retake is the recycling of old or defective PH5 parts from the original factory. After recycling, the pickling process is used. The surface appearance of each lamp is different.
• The upper and lower lampshades are made of different materials. After pickling, the texture of the lowermost lampshade and the upper aluminum lampshade will be slightly different when viewed at close range. This is normal.
