The VL Ring Crown series originated from the VL38 desk lamp designed by architect Vilhelm Lauritzen for the Danish Broadcasting Corporation in Copenhagen in the 1940s. Lighting master Vilhelm Lauritzen successfully created lamps that are both beautiful and functional. VL38 and VL45 have an organic form with Danish characteristics. In 1947, designer Finn Juhl, who had worked for Vilhelm Lauritzen, used the VL Ring Crown for the interior design of the Bing & Grøndahl ceramics company's shop on a Copenhagen street.
In 2019 Louis Poulsen relaunches the VL Ring Crown gold ring crown wall light, adhering to the VL Ring Crown’s original materials and design, called treated polished brass, and smooth white three-layer hand-blown opal glass, VL Ring Crown series The rounded shape is pure and simple, and softly illuminates contemporary life with warm light. The organically shaped lampshade of the pendant guides the light source downwards, and the smooth hand-blown white opal glass fixture provides comfortable and even lighting for indoor areas.
The combination of a three-layer blown glass shade and a stand made of proven brass gives the VL Ring Crown a classic and contemporary look, suitable for both private and public settings, whether in kitchens, dining rooms, bedrooms, cafes , offices, hotels, simple, classic and full of retro feel.
