DOPO bar chair． The Nakajima Chair is a new design work released in 2024 by Studio Œ, a duo based in Berlin, Germany, following the OTO series they collaborated with Mattiazzi in 2023. The OTO series has a magical charm, and people who come into contact with it for the first time will want to experience its touch and explore its soft lines. Studio Œ hopes to apply the same design characteristics to the DOPO series to attract people to have sensory interaction with the DOPO series.
The design ingenuity of the DOPO chair legs that surround and accentuate the seat stems from the concept of trees and shrubs slowly growing around hedges, walls or other plants, eventually blending in with them over time.
In addition, the design of the fourth chair leg protruding from the chair surface cleverly responds to Studio Œ’s observation of people’s posture and behavior patterns when using bar stools in bars. The protruding chair leg is designed to be similar in height to a walking stick. It is also A flattering handle can not only be used to hang a handbag, but also serves as a convenient handle for moving the chair.
Studio Πbelieves that the best way to make good bar stools is to experience them yourself. Studio Πvisited many bars for on-the-spot inspections and observed the behaviors and movements of people sitting on bar chairs - casually leaning on the stools; occasionally changing postures from left to right while sitting on the chairs; sometimes even not sitting on the chairs. By putting the coat on top, Studio Πoutlined the ideal bar chair design by clarifying the usage situation - the base should provide safe support so that the user can freely change postures when interacting with others, and at the same time, be matched with just the right lighting. and the height of the chair, turning the chair into a booth, giving people sitting on it an aesthetic visual effect.
