The original design of the Doo-Wop chandelier originated in the 1950s and was co-designed by the Danish Navy Buildings Department and Louis Poulsen. It was relaunched in 2012. Doo-Wop uses a clever inner filter design of a white-painted cone-shaped reflector to provide soft downward light, combined with Louis Poulsen's expertise in indirect multi-level light sources, cup-shaped high-low stacking, and a simple fusion design of classic and modern. It is widely used for its unique lighting characteristics and practicality. It emits soft light colors upward and downward. It is suitable for many different environments, such as restaurants and offices, giving the space a soft rhythmic vocabulary.
Doo-Wop has new colors and brass versions in 2012. The metallic glossy color scheme gives the space a touch of luxury. In 2017, a new metal version made of copper and stainless steel is introduced, with fine curling edges and smooth solid brass plates. It tests Louis Poulsen's meticulous craftsmanship and challenge, conveying the immortal value of timeless design.
