Nyhavn is named after "Newport" in Copenhagen, Denmark. It was built in the 17th century and is close to the river bank. It has a canal landscape and colorful housing buildings. The area is also an entertainment area with many restaurants, bars and cafes. The Nyhavn outdoor wall lamp was designed by Alfred Homann and Ole V. Kjær in 1976. This lamp won the prize in the Urban Heritage Vintage Street Lamp Competition organized by Louis Poulsen . Designer Homann said that compared with other similar products on the market at the time, this street lamp was smaller in size, low-key in appearance, but full of ingenuity. The conical lampshade and the lamp body have an anti-glare three-layer metal hollow ring design, emitting a wide-angle, soft and direct downward light source.
Nyhavn outdoor wall light shades are painted in white matte on the inside to ensure consistent light distribution. The three-layer metal ring design above the lampshade can control the light diffusion angle while projecting a small amount of light upward.
